ditto, that music pack was pretty neat! And it's easier, so you can get teams easily...plus there's greens.

I still love the Deep. It's not as difficult as DoA but it was really to fun to play through because it wasn't just "Here, fight groups and groups of the same enemies using the same old boring skills..."

SF was nice too, I really enjoyed its addition and it got me back to playing Guild Wars when it came out.

Urgoz is FUN and so are SF. FOW and TPOK. Plus the drops are worth the time you put in. DOA is a plain and simple WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT. If you enjoying wasteing 5 hours for a non max white drop then good for you. I DO NOT.

SF and The Deep, both were fun and enjoyable to play. DoA is boring, long, and uses old Half Life textures.

SF = Short boring quests. SF can be cleared with 5 henches... enough said.

DoA = Challenge to Skills, Tactics and Teamwork.

What would be the purpose of doing SF today anyway? SF used to be a challenge until 4/5 man builds. Maybe someday I'll say the same about DoA.

Until then, DoA is for gamers... SF is for __________ well... you fill in the blank.

SF, least you know you might stand half a chance of getting something worthwhile for your trouble and not by spending hours over it.

Unfortunately DoA doesn't hold to the old gw mantra "skill > time spent", it's "skill AND massively time spent".

Some really organized guilds have completed some of the quests in under 2 hours, I'd say skill is definately > time spent.

Also, isn't SF greens near worthless now?

With DoA, if you complete the quest and kill the boss, you're guaranteed a gem, not to mention you have a good chance of getting green armor and more gems as drops.

Considering Titan Gems go for upwards of 100k+XX ectos, I'd definately say the reward is worth it.

I just had to say this. I have gone into DoA andall the other "elite" areas. My personal favorite is and always will be Sorrows Furnace. Team size in there doesn't matter, the end result is that you have gotten something done that miost players won't try or cant get past the first set of enemies. Try it the way I do it. Go into Sorrows furnacwe without taking any outside quests,do that and clear the entire area then say the difficulty level is lacking. I can make that run in under 4 hours with a good team, with henchies I have spent a little more than 6 hours in there. As long as players want the greens then I will keep going into SF, I like it in there.

Loved the keg/gear tanking with Glad Defence days too bad it got <NERFED> please dont say this was a balance issue, its not like the summit dwarfs can come into our forums and complaint that its unbalancing that they have a mental condition to attack anyone who is carrying one of their precious gunpowder kegs/gears -_- Balance my shorts

Then by your defination am i correct to assume that FoW armour is for gamers... non FoW armour is for __________ as well?

We all agree the DoA is more challenging, no one is disputing that, but the question was:

1)Is it well designed in terms of playability vs challenge?
2)Is the area appealing to players?
3)Does reward/satisfaction justify time involvement?
4)Does it Cater to majority of players or a selected few?
5)FUN??? or simply frustrating? Last i check this is still a game

When asking the above questions, DoA falls short of SF/GF in implementation, Which sadly adds to the poor replayability of Nightfall Chapter. Personally i dont really mind the challenge of DoA or want it changed but that shouldnt be an excuse to put down or belittle others who may feel that DoA is difficult or a waste of time without first validating their reasons for the sentiments and hopefully this thread will remind everyone what brought us to play this game in the first place and the fun times we had when GW did good.

Good level design isnt just about difficulty, by your definition if the mobs in sorrows where doubled in numbers and level, it would be better.

Sorrows furnace has much better attention to detail, quality, looks, music, and an overall finished feel, all doa has over it is difficulty, and that just comes down to mob level and number.

Doa loses as a decent end game area, its a blatant last minute addition because they didnt take/have the time to add a real end game area with the same qualitys as fow/uw/sorrows.
